Learn the Reverse Appliqué sewing technique in this single-session workshop with Cat Eskey of Cottage Chip Hand Embroidery.
In this beginner-friendly class, you will bring in a garment of your own to hand stitch a reverse appliqué patch on. Reverse appliqué can be used to add flair, color, and texture to clothing and even to repair holes. With guidance, you'll choose the shape and location of your patch and have the option to embellish your work with some simple hand embroidery. The best clothing for the raw-edge technique you'll be learning is made of thicker fabric with a tight weave, like denim or a sweatshirt. Please feel free to bring a couple of options. If you don't have any clothing that you want to add your personal touch to, please bring a large scrap of fabric to practice on.
All other materials will be provided.
This class is part of the library’s programming for adults. Participants must be 18 or older.
